About Ian Smith
Born and raised in Charlotte, Ian has always had deep roots in this city and an even deeper commitment to the people who call it home. He graduated from UNC Charlotte and stepped directly into the mortgage industry as a processor, a decision that set the foundation for everything that followed. Over a decade later, he has never looked back. What started as a career quickly became a calling. Ian works across the full spectrum of mortgage products, from first-time buyer loans and complex self-employed scenarios to investment property financing, but the part of the job that never gets old is the moment a family sends a photo holding their keys in front of their new home. That picture, that moment, is what it is all about. When he is not helping clients navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives, Ian is somewhere outdoors or in motion. He skis, mountain bikes, and takes long walks when life calls for something quieter. He travels as often as he can and places deep value on time spent with the people who matter most. New York City holds a special place in his heart, and he moves comfortably between Charlotte and New York, carrying a little of both cities with him wherever he goes.
