Rate Foundation Scholarship Program Deadline Extended to June 27

The Rate Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) public charity, has expanded its Leadership and Entrepreneurial Scholarship program for the 2014-2015 school year, and due to demand has extended the application deadline to June 27, 2014.

The program provides college scholarships of up to $10,000 per year, for up to four years, towards tuition and study materials for students with demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial qualities. To date, approximately $100,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded. Now, in an effort to support the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs, the Rate Foundation is expanding the program to include two additional scholarships for children and grandchildren of real estate industry professionals or associates registered on Rate’s Partner Xchange website.

To apply, candidates must submit a one-page essay of 500-700 words detailing their leadership or entrepreneurial abilities including specific examples, such as starting their own business and hiring employees, forming a student organization at school, or leading a volunteer effort or community-based organization. Candidates are also required to submit additional supporting information, including letters of recommendation (up to two) that provide insight into their leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

Students must be enrolled to attend a post-secondary school for the upcoming year (this includes four-year colleges, trade, vocational and technical schools, and community and junior colleges). Recipients of the scholarships will also have the opportunity to participate in the Rate summer intern program, where they will receive additional training and leadership education and possibly earn school credit. Complete details about the scholarship and applications are available here, or questions can be emailed to [email protected].
