Rate Named a Top Workplace by Chicago Tribune
Rate, the eighth largest retail mortgage lender in the nation, has been named to the Chicago Tribune's Top 100
Workplaces for the fifth time in six years, moving up in rank from 16 last year to 6 in the large employer category. The Chicago Tribune Top Workplace award recognizes exceptional employers in the Chicago area based on employee surveys measuring qualities such as company leadership, compensation, training, workplace flexibility, overall satisfaction and
diversity.
"We're really proud of being named a winner of the Chicago Tribune's Top Workplace
Award for the fifth time," said Rate CEO and Founder Victor Ciardelli. "Our
unique, passionate and fun culture attracts the best and brightest in Chicago and our
employees have a great time while working hard to make Rate the best
mortgage company in the country."
Employee perks at Rate include an onsite nurse practitioner; complimentary
massages; an in-house café offering breakfast, lunch and a late afternoon healthy snack; a
huge rooftop deck; a gym with fitness classes; dry cleaning services; frequent staff parties
and a game room. Employees also bond while giving back to the community via food drives,
the Rate Foundation and its annual BBQ, Bourbon and Blues fundraiser which
last year raised more than $260,000 with every penny donated to those in need.
The top workplace winners are listed in a special issue of the Chicago Tribune on Friday, November 11, and online at ChicagoTribune.com.
