Home Prices Continue To Rise Despite Season

By: Nicole Gates

US home prices increased this past September, the 6th straight month of gains and another sign that the housing market is recovering. The S&P/Case-Shiller home price index showed a 0.3% increase following a 0.8% increase in August. Prices are now 3% higher than they were in 2011.

While the housing industry enters a seasonally weak part of the year, we are still able to see gains. Out of the 20 cities tracked by the index, 13 posted monthly gains.
