To think that I've been in mortgage lending since 2001 is wild. Wild because I'm terrible at math, and I'm no longer ashamed to make it public. No way would I have told you that in 2003! I joined the mortgage industry to leave the grind of working in retail and being fed up with having zero control over my time. A month into my new job, and I was in love with it. For me, it wasn't about the money, it was about getting to know people and their unique situations. I'm fascinated by the human experience and human behavior. Whether it's someone buying or refinancing a $40,000 property or a $2.5M property, they have my commitment to be treated with dignity and to have a transparent process. As a result of this approach, a large amount of my business is repeat and referral. Those referrals and repeat business are my fuel and never taken for granted. When not working, I love spending time with my wife, friends, and Mom.
